Neighbourhood Watch

There are 11 accredited Neighbourhood Watch schemes running in Coleraine Borough.
Neighbourhood Watch is a simple scheme which lets communities work together to develop a safe Neighbourhood. If you are considering setting up a scheme this checklist will help you on your way!
Neighbourhood Watch Scheme CHECKLIST
- Find out the level of interest in the community for a Neighbourhood Watch scheme *
- A Neighbourhood Watch Co-ordinator Application form needs to be completed & send to PSNI who will vet the nominated person (Appendix C)*
- Identify what you would like the scheme to do for your area
- Complete the Neighbourhood Watch SCHEME application form (Appendix D) and photo ID form (below) which will be sent by PSNI to the co-ordinator once they are vetted.
- A meeting will follow with the designated Police officer for the scheme area and confirm a location map which outlines where signage should go. The Police officer returns this and the forms along with 2 photos to the Community Safety Partnership *
- Once the scheme is accredited you will receive a confirmation letter from the Community Safety Unit
- Neighbourhood Watch Signage will be erected in the area identified on the application form.
